What is Life Care Center?
Life Care Center is the "mercy hands" ministry of North Hills Vineyard Church. We are located in North Hills Village(NHV), a relocation site in Norzagaray, Bulacan. The People were relocated from homeless and squatter areas of Metro Manila. There are 10,000 family units here in an area of 32 hectares. It is a very poor area with very few income generating jobs. The malnourished rate is also one of the highest in the province of Bulacan. Our desire is to "Build Better Lives and Stronger Communities" We do not want to just give a free handout but to come alongside our neighbors and build them up.
We believe that ministry in Jesus' name should be expressed in concrete ways through the local church. The poor are to be served as though we serve Jesus himself. In fact, in all forms of ministry, compassion is a hallmark of the One who was "moved with compassion" in the face of human need. Compassion should constitute the leading edge of our service to God, each other and our broken world.
Life Care Center got started in March of 2000 with a malnourished feeding program. We offer a complete nutritious meal three times a week as well as daily vitamins, deworming medicine, medical & dental checkups and health teachings over a 6 month period. We work together with the children's families, local gov't workers, and church volunteers.
Life Care Center also offers a school sponsorship program to help families to send their children to school. We also have an "Investment Club" which encourages a hope for a future. Some of our livelihood projects include floor rugs, t-shirt printing, mug printing, basket/purses made out of phone books, graphic design, ID printing, etc. Our desire is not to give fish, but to teach how to catch fish.
Life Care Center desires to work alongside families with God's love in practical ways. God gives us a hope and a future. We desire to love God with our whole heart and to love our neighbor with hands of mercy. We need to minister out of a sense of compassion, not merely human pity. Compassion is an aspect of the fruit of the Spirit and Christian grace. (Galatians 5:22)
